Polling Wheel

This polling wheel holds twenty ready-made questions, and one spin picks what your group votes on next.

How to run a poll with the wheel

  1. Load your questions

Keep the starter twenty or swap them out, one poll question per line, until every slice is something your group would genuinely vote on.

  2. Spin for the topic

Read the winning question aloud or drop it in the chat, then gather answers however your group usually decides.

  3. Break ties with a short list

If the vote lands even, reload the wheel with only the tied options and accept whichever one a single spin picks.

The wheel asks, your group answers

Spin first, then poll. The wheel lands on one question, maybe where lunch comes from or which series to start together, and the group answers it the way people normally vote: raised hands, chat replies, or emoji reactions. The spin never counts votes; it only sets what everyone weighs in on. Swap any line for a question of your own before starting, and save a set you like to My Wheels so it is ready next time.

A level vote is the second job. When two options finish tied, put just those options on the wheel and let one spin close it out. Every option that stays enabled has the same starting chance, and totals only shift when a line appears twice or you adjust Advanced weights. Agree before spinning that the result stands, since the whole point of a tie-break is that nobody argues afterward.

Where the polling wheel earns its keep

Spin to choose what gets voted on, then let people vote however they already do.

  • Teams Meeting agenda picker: Load the suggestion backlog, spin for the item to discuss first, and run the vote in chat as usual.
  • Streams Viewer poll starter: Let the wheel select which viewer question becomes the next channel poll, so nobody accuses the host of cherry-picking.
  • Ties Deadlock breaker: When a vote lands even, spin once between the tied options and agree beforehand that the result stands.

Common questions

Does the spin replace voting?

No. The wheel picks the question, or settles a tie the group already agreed to close this way. The actual poll still happens between people.

How do I avoid repeating a question we already polled?

Switch on auto remove winner. Each chosen question drops off after its spin, and the removal stops once two entries remain.

Will my question list be here next session?

My Wheels holds the list in this browser. A downloaded .wheel file is your backup copy, and Share can make a private hosted link when enabled for this environment.
