Clear rules for using ChoiceSpin

These Terms explain what you can expect from the site, what ChoiceSpin asks from you, and where a free random picker should not be used.

Effective and last updated .

Use it responsibly

Lawful classes, games, draws, team activities, and ordinary decisions are welcome.

Your content stays yours

ChoiceSpin does not take ownership of the names, images, or wheel files you create.

Local first

My Wheels and portable wheel files work locally. Gallery browsing stays separate from private wheels.

Mandatory rights remain

Nothing here removes consumer rights or other protections that applicable law says cannot be waived.

The full agreement

Short sections, descriptive headings, and direct language make the rules easier to find without weakening the details.

01

Agreement and who may use the service

By using ChoiceSpin, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must be legally able to agree to these Terms. If you are not, use ChoiceSpin only with a parent, guardian, teacher, employer, or other responsible person who is allowed to make that decision.

If you use ChoiceSpin for a school, company, club, or other organization, you are responsible for having permission to act for that organization.

02

What ChoiceSpin provides today

ChoiceSpin provides a browser-based random picker with wheel editing, customization, local saving, result history, file import and export, fullscreen presentation, and result-image or supported video export.

The service is free to use in its current form. No account, subscription, payment, or purchase is required for the main wheel.

Descriptions of features are not a promise that every feature will remain unchanged or work in every browser forever.

03

Responsible and prohibited use

Use ChoiceSpin lawfully and in a way that does not harm people, the service, or other systems.

You must not use ChoiceSpin to:

  • break a law, encourage harm, threaten, harass, exploit, or discriminate against people;
  • upload malware, harmful code, stolen material, or content you do not have the right to use;
  • impersonate another person or misrepresent a wheel as official, certified, or endorsed when it is not;
  • probe, bypass, interfere with, or overload security, moderation, rate limits, or service infrastructure;
  • scrape or automate requests at a level that harms the site or other visitors;
  • use the wheel for real-money gambling, wagering, or selling paid chances to win.
04

Your entries, images, and wheel files

You keep ownership of content you create or add, including entry text, uploaded images, saved wheel data, and exported files.

You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed for that content. Do not add private, copyrighted, or personal information merely because the wheel can store it.

The current local wheel needs permission to process that content in your browser so the feature can work. ChoiceSpin does not need or claim a broad ownership license for locally stored wheel content.

When you choose Share or Spin With Friends, you give ChoiceSpin the limited permission needed to transmit, store, synchronize, display to invited link holders, protect, and delete that hosted content for the feature's stated lifetime. This permission ends when the content is deleted or the service no longer needs it for security and legal records.

If you send content in a support email, you give ChoiceSpin permission to read and use it only as reasonably needed to answer, investigate, or protect the service.

05

Sharing, Gallery, and live features

Saved wheels work locally in your browser. The Gallery can show intentionally published public wheels, but it does not receive your private wheel automatically. Public Gallery publishing remains capability-gated.

Share can create an unlisted bearer link that expires after 24 hours. Anyone who receives or forwards the link can use it until it is disabled or expires. A spin-and-copy link lets the recipient keep an editable copy after the hosted link ends. The link is not end-to-end encrypted and is not suitable for confidential or sensitive information.

Spin With Friends can create an invited live room for up to 6 hours and no more than 32 active participants. Link holders can see synchronized wheel content and spins, and can use editing, spinning, or chat only where the room owner enables those controls. Do not use chat to harass people, impersonate others, or send unlawful or sensitive material.

A downloaded .wheel file remains a separate portable backup, and screen sharing lets other people watch. You are responsible for choosing a safe channel and for everyone who can see a link, file, room, or screen.

06

ChoiceSpin materials and identity

The ChoiceSpin name, logo, site design, original illustrations, software, and documentation belong to ChoiceSpin or the people who licensed them to ChoiceSpin.

You may use the public service normally and link to public pages. These Terms do not give you permission to copy the product, remove notices, claim the brand as your own, sell the source, or use ChoiceSpin marks in a way that suggests endorsement.

Open-source components remain subject to their own licenses.

07

Browsers, hosting, and third-party services

ChoiceSpin depends on browsers, devices, hosting, network delivery, email, and other services ChoiceSpin does not fully control.

External links and social-share actions take you to another service. Its rules and privacy practices apply there. A link does not mean ChoiceSpin endorses everything on that service.

You are responsible for keeping your browser, device, network, and local backups in a condition that supports the features you use.

08

Availability, maintenance, and product changes

ChoiceSpin aims to keep the service useful and reliable, but does not promise uninterrupted availability, permanent storage, or support for every browser and device.

Features may be repaired, limited, replaced, or removed for security, privacy, abuse prevention, legal requirements, cost, performance, or product quality. When a change materially affects visitors, ChoiceSpin should explain it in the interface, changelog, or an updated policy as appropriate.

Keep a downloaded backup of any wheel you cannot afford to lose. Browser storage is not a guaranteed archive.

09

Do not use the wheel for high-stakes decisions or gambling

ChoiceSpin is a general random picker, not a medical device, emergency service, legal service, financial system, employment decision system, certified lottery machine, or regulated gambling product.

Do not use it as the only basis for decisions that could seriously affect health, safety, legal rights, education access, employment, money, housing, or another person’s welfare.

Do not sell chances, accept bets, or use the wheel for real-money gambling. Check the law and get appropriate professional advice for any regulated draw or promotion.

10

Warranties, results, and liability

ChoiceSpin is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent the law permits, ChoiceSpin does not make implied promises about uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular high-stakes purpose, or permanent preservation of local data.

You are responsible for checking the entries, visible-entry limit, weights, settings, result, and suitability of the wheel before relying on it.

To the extent the law permits, ChoiceSpin is not liable for indirect or consequential loss caused by using or being unable to use the service, losing local browser data, or relying on a wheel for an unsuitable purpose.

Mandatory rights come first: these limits do not exclude liability or consumer remedies that applicable law says cannot be excluded or limited.
11

Safety measures and access limits

ChoiceSpin may block requests, restrict access, remove public material if public features return, or take other proportionate steps when reasonably needed to protect people, comply with law, stop abuse, or secure the service.

ChoiceSpin does not offer public user accounts today. Share and live rooms use a short-lived anonymous Firebase identity only as security infrastructure; it is not a profile or account you can sign into. Public publishing controls remain inactive.

12

Changes to these Terms

ChoiceSpin may update these Terms for valid reasons such as a product change, new law, security issue, new provider, or clearer wording.

A material change should include a new date and reasonable notice through the site or changelog before it takes effect when practical. A change should not be applied retroactively in a way that unfairly removes rights you already have.

If you do not agree to a future version, stop using the service after that version takes effect. Mandatory consumer rights still apply.

13

Applicable law, severability, and no waiver

These Terms do not yet name a governing law or court because ChoiceSpin’s formal operator and home jurisdiction are still being finalized. This page does not guess at those details.

Rights and protections that apply to you under mandatory law remain in effect. If a court or authority finds one part of these Terms unenforceable, the remaining parts should continue to apply as far as the law allows.

If ChoiceSpin does not enforce a term immediately, that does not automatically waive the right to enforce it later.
