How to run a classroom round
- Build the period roster
Enter your students, one on each line, and save the wheel to My Wheels named after the period. Repeat for every class you teach.
- Set attendance in Rounds
Open Rounds, check absent students and choose Start round. A checked box means absent; matching names have numbered rows.
- Ask, then spin
Pose the question before spinning so everyone has time to think, and allow a pass. Read the winner box and the remaining count in Rounds; the count reaches zero after the final call.
With a single wheel, Auto remove winner is a separate option that edits the list without taking it below two non-empty entries. Rounds finishes the whole included roster. Use End or discard to remove remembered progress on a shared device, and check for a removal warning before leaving.
Give every student a turn before anyone goes twice
Make one wheel for each period you teach. Type each student on a new line over the ten starters, then save the roster to My Wheels with the period in the name, Period 2 Biology for example. Tomorrow it opens in seconds. A .wheel download of every class list survives a cleared browser and moves with you to another computer.
Open Rounds before the first question, check anyone who is absent, and choose Start round. Each present row can be called once, including the last student, without deleting names from the original list. Check the included roster first: enabled entries, the visible limit and Show Duplicates determine who starts the round. Advanced weights still affect who is picked next.
End round restores the list; Restart round begins another pass with the same attendance. To continue another day, choose Remember this round in this browser and check for a save warning before leaving. After reloading, reopen the matching roster and settings, then choose Resume saved round. Saving needs browser support and available storage.
Class lists are personal information, and this page often runs on a projector or a shared cart laptop. Keep to first names, add a last initial only when two students match, and remove rosters from any device that other classes or staff sign into. Sharing uploads the wheel to make a link anyone with the URL can open. Follow your school's policy before sharing a roster.

Common questions
Does every student have an equal shot?
Each enabled name opens every spin with the same chance. That shifts only when a student appears on two lines or you set Advanced weights, so scan the roster once before the first question.
Can I keep a separate list for each class period?
Yes. Save one wheel per period in My Wheels and name them so they are easy to tell apart. Each list can also be downloaded as a .wheel file, which is handy on a school machine that gets wiped over the summer.
What happens when two students share a first name?
Leave Show Duplicates on to keep matching names as separate rows. Rounds gives them separate roster numbers. First names plus initials, such as Sam K and Sam W, also make the result easier to recognize.
