Animal Wheel
The wheel holds 32 animals, dog through kangaroo, and one spin picks a single creature to draw, act out, or study.
How to use the animal wheel
- Shape the list for the group
Keep all 32 animals for a mixed crowd, or cut it down to creatures your youngest player recognizes.
- Announce the task before spinning
Say whether the animal will be drawn, mimed, described, or researched, so nobody stalls after the reveal.
- Spin and commit
Work with the animal that lands; re-spin only for labels the group agreed in advance to skip.
Animal welfare and participant safety come first. Follow site rules, keep a safe distance from wildlife, and let anyone pass on a prompt. Review custom lists for age, language, culture, phobias, trauma, and access needs. Never use an animal result to label or mock a person.
A familiar animal mix you can reshape
The 32 starter animals mix pets, farm favorites, ocean life, and safari species, so most groups recognize every slice on sight. Trim it to gentle, familiar creatures for preschoolers, or load the exact species from this week's science unit and let the wheel decide what each student researches.
Broad names are the one thing to watch. A label like bear, monkey, or turtle covers dozens of real species, which is fine for a drawing prompt but too loose for factual work. When facts matter, have the spinner narrow the result, brown bear rather than bear, before writing anything down.
Animal prompts for creativity and learning
Choose an age-appropriate activity and add context when a broad animal name is not specific enough.
- Art Drawing subject: Select an animal to sketch and provide an accessible reference when observation matters.
- Classroom Research warmup: Choose a species from the broad result, then investigate its traits using current sources.
- Games Acting or guessing prompt: Let a player act or describe the animal, with a simple pass option when needed.

Common questions
Can I load my own animal list?
Yes. Swap the entries for any list up to 2,000, keep it in My Wheels on this device, and download a .wheel file as a backup.
Do all 32 animals have the same odds?
Every enabled entry begins with an equal chance. Typing an animal twice gives it two slices, and Advanced weights also change the totals.
How do I stop repeat animals across spins?
Turn on auto remove winner and each result drops off the wheel. Removal stops once two animals remain, so decide the final pair yourself.
