Random Country Generator
The wheel starts loaded with all 195 countries and their flags, and one spin lands on a single country at random.
How to use the country wheel
- Set the scope
Delete the countries outside your region, quiz unit, or travel shortlist, or keep the full 195, Afghanistan through Zimbabwe, for a whole-world draw.
- Decide on repeats
Turn on auto remove winner when each country should be drawn only once, as in a class research rotation.
- Spin and read the winner
Spin once and read the country from the winner box, since 195 thin slices leave no room for wheel labels.
With 195 narrow slices, use the written result below the wheel; the name stays readable if a flag does not render.
What is the Random Country Generator?
This preset loads the 193 UN member states plus the Holy See and Palestine, the two observer states, which is how it reaches 195. Keeping that fixed scope means the wheel never has to take sides on disputed borders.
Trim before you teach: delete everything outside one continent to drill a single region. Save each version in My Wheels, or download a .wheel file as an offline backup, and a Europe wheel can sit ready next to an Africa wheel.
A spin is even across countries, never across regions. Africa fills 54 slices while South America fills 12, so an African country wins far more often. Cut the list down when that skew matters for your activity.
Ways to use a random country
Use the result as a starting point, not factual or travel advice.
- Classroom Geography prompt: Pick a country for a fact-checked capital, flag, map, or research activity.
- Games Trivia or creative topic: Choose a prepared quiz subject, drawing prompt, story setting, or cuisine theme.
- Travel Shortlist inspiration: Remove unsuitable destinations, then verify entry rules, safety, cost, health, accessibility, and current conditions before booking.

Common questions
Are Greenland, Scotland, or Puerto Rico on the wheel?
No. The preset sticks to sovereign states, so territories and constituent countries do not appear. Type any of them in as extra entries when your activity counts them separately.
Does every country have an equal chance?
Yes. Each enabled row starts with an identical chance, and only duplicates or Advanced weights shift the totals. Deleting or disabling a row removes that country from the draw entirely.
